Key Ingredients for a Quick Healthy Breakfast Recipe
- Granola – We have used our Maple Pecan Granola to make these parfaits- higher in fibre than most and lower in fat. Alternatively, any granola or toasted muesli can be substituted. Experts recommend choosing a granola higher in fibre, and without added refined sugar.1
- Yoghurt- A low fat vanilla yoghurt has been used. Altenatively, a low-fat greek yoghurt with a few few drops of vanilla extract and some natural sweetener can be used. Yoghurt is an excellent source of protein and calcium. It is recommended to choose one with little or no added sugar and one that contains beneficial probiotics2
- Berries- Strawberries and blueberries have been used in this recipe but any fruit can be substituted. Berries are an amazing source of antioxidants, fibre and contain important vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C.3
